France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy: FCDO’s final advice with the return of the Orange List holidays | Travel News | Trip

Additionally, in response to the increase in Covid cases in the UK, a number of countries have tightened entry requirements for UK arrivals.

What is the latest advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for popular European vacation destinations such as France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy?

The British government announced on Friday that the no-quarantine rule for fully vaccinated Britons would not apply to those visiting France.

According to the government, the decision was made amid concerns over the number of cases of the beta variant, initially detected in South Africa, now in France.

In an update, the FCDO explains: “The Amber List rules for people fully vaccinated in the UK do not apply to France.

“If you have been in France within 10 days of your arrival in England, you must follow the standard orange list rules.

“This means you have to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival in England and pass the COVID-19 tests on days two and eight.

“You will need to book these tests in advance.

“When filling out your passenger tracing form, you should choose ‘No / I’d rather not say’ when asked if you are exempt from the requirement to quarantine and pass an eighth day test.

“This can be found in the section of the form titled ‘Your Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination Status’.”

France also has its own entry requirements for arrivals in the UK.

With the UK currently on France’s ‘orange list’, unvaccinated Britons will only be allowed to travel for essential reasons.

FCDO says, “Travelers who are not fully vaccinated will need to self-isolate for 7 days after arrival and then have another PCR test after this period of self-isolation. “

However, those who are fully vaccinated are allowed to travel to France and do not need to self-isolate upon arrival.

“From July 18, fully vaccinated adults no longer need to show proof of a negative test result before traveling,” adds the FCDO.
