CRISTIANO RONALDO went from swept roads as a poor child to owning sweeping mansions as a legend of Portugal.
The Manchester United icon owns over £ 45million in homes and cars, a £ 7million Madeira mega-mansion and a £ 8.5million Bugatti sports car to a modest £ 14,000 Mercedes.
But if all of his wealth could occupy just one of his 20 plus luxury cars, then the value of his homes and vehicles would barely occupy a single passenger seat.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward, 36, is said to have a net worth of around £ 363million.
And in his entire career he is said to have earned, spent and invested around £ 789million.
For £ 363million you could (apparently) have launched a space shuttle into space (£ 335million) and still have enough change to buy a private plane.
Or if that sort of thing wouldn’t leave you on the moon, you might have considered buying Newcastle – for an initial £ 300million.
Instead, Ronaldo invested in properties and his love of engines.
It is all so far from a difficult childhood, where he was kicked out of school, diagnosed with heart disease and raised in an underprivileged area of ââMadrid with an alcoholic father.

Today its “property portfolio” is valued at over £ 23million, complemented by a four-story building in Madeira purchased last year.
From there, Ronaldo, his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their four children can take a dip in a rooftop pool … while gazing out to sea and imagining the life with the twins Georgina is expecting next summer.
After joining United from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, Ron bought a £ 3million mansion – obviously including the essentials of an indoor pool, movie theater, steam room, gym and jacuzzi.
Since then he has added to his housing arsenal an apartment in New York, a vacation home next to Irish UFC superstar Conor McGregor in Marbella and a base in Turin.
And far from being sheepish about his collection, he splashed out again when he returned to Old Trafford in September of this year.
But he quickly upgraded that £ 3million house to a £ 6million house in Cheshire – amid security concerns and allegations (which he dismissed as quackery) that the woolly neighbors in the farmyard kept him awake at night.
Arguably, however, Ronaldo’s most astounding expense is the $ 11.5million (£ 8.5million) he spent on one of the ONLY TEN Bugatti The Black Car in the world.
Ron picked it up in October after ordering it last year.
He has already written âCR7â on the headrests of his two other Bugattis.
Its latest 8-liter monster engine can do 0-62 mph in 2.4 seconds and hit 236 mph.
And Georgina gave Ron a £ 600,000 Mercedes G Wagon for his 35th birthday.
He managed to integrate this alongside his full team of Rev Devils, including a Lamborghini Aventador, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and a Ferrari F12 TDF.
Among the more modest numbers in his car lineup is a £ 250,000 Bentley Flying Spur that he usually drives in training and – really hitting the barrel here – a Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI.
Ron would only need to shell out about ten hours of his kicking salary to pay for that run of Merc.
But it’s worth pointing out that Ronaldo’s priorities remain his family, as well as his physical and mental health, aided by a fanatical fitness regimen.
And his generosity and thoughtfulness to fans is also well documented.
So whatever you think of his cars and lavish homes, he came the hard way and always keeps his foot on the pedal to stay ahead of the rest.
