Marcelina S. (Serodio) Ricardo, of East Providence, dies at 77

Marcelina S. (Serodio) Ricardo, 77, of East Providence, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Miriam Hospital.

She was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, daughter of Isidoro and Maria Jose (Amaral Botelho) Serodio.

Marcelina was a licensed practical nurse for over 30 years at Waterview Villa Nursing Home.

She has lived in East Providence for over 44 years, coming from Taunton and Portugal, she was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church.

Marcelina was a very religious, very caring and generous person. Her family was everything to her, she loved spending time with them and her grandchildren. She loved to cook and recently became a Republican who was up to date with all the Republican news.

She is survived by her daughters Bernice Silva of East Providence and Stephanie Ricardo of North Providence. Marcelina was the sister of Almerinda Campos de Taunton. She was the grandmother of Colin J. Cogger, Kiera E. Cogger, Maximus A. French and Kassius B. French. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mother of the late Brenda Ann Campos and sister of the late Carmela Mendonca.

A Christian funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence, RI. Parents and friends are welcome to attend.

Interment will be private.
