Spain reopens its doors to travelers from India and opens its visa application centers


Spain will welcome travelers from India, as it has reopened its consular offices for all visa categories after being temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, travelers from India must meet the following requirements when planning to visit Spain, reports

  • Indian passengers must be fully vaccinated to travel to Spain.
  • The Covishield vaccine is approved while Covaxin is not.
  • Children under 12 are not required to present these or other supporting documents.
  • Indian travelers must have a Schengen visa or apply for a Spanish visa through the online visa application center, BLS, international.
  • Currently, only central Delhi processes visa applications.
  • If the flight is canceled or people cannot travel during the visa period, they are allowed to change the travel dates. In these cases, the new sticker will be issued free of charge by the Embassy or Consulate. However, travelers are required to reapply.

“If you need to change the validity of the visa, you just need to submit the passport and the new flight reservation (unconfirmed tickets) if the visa period has not started. However, if you need to make this change after the entry into force of your visa, you must reapply with all the documents ”, according to the Condé Nast agency. Such a process can also be done without visa fees.

Besides Spain, the majority of European countries have started to reopen their visa application centers in the South Asian country.

Previously, France had announced that it had opened its visa application centers in India; therefore, anyone interested in visiting France this summer can now apply for a type C visa.

Icelandic authorities have also announced that Indians wishing to enter this country can do so, as Iceland has reopened several visa application centers in Bengaluru, Kochi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi.

Travelers from India can also apply for short-stay visas to visit France and Sweden, as centers in India that offer such services have reopened.

Yet, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some other countries like Bulgaria, Finland, Malta, Slovenia and Slovakia have yet to reopen their visa application centers.
