Julia Hammond hosted a very successful fundraiser on March 26 which took place at Dano’s Sports Bar & Restaurant in Quinta do Lago for two local charities “Alerta de Incendio Florestal Association” and “Sterilise our Stray’s” (SOSAA).
The fundraiser attracted 80 people, raising the fantastic sum of €2,500 for the two associations. It was a great night thanks to fantastic rock n roll entertainment from ‘The Three Buskerteers’ featuring Julia Hammond, Barbara Leitch and Roger Guppy who got everyone onto the dance floor making for a fun night which ended with three encores!
The event also welcomed two speakers, Debby from the Alerta association and Nicola from SOSAA Charity who spoke a few words while donations were collected during two videos. One of the videos was a compilation of slides and images of the Bombeiros fighting fires in which “The Three Buskerteers” sang the song “Smile” in Acapella and the second video was for the charity SOSAA which included photos of dogs and cats and they sang a song linked to the video called “Born Free”.
Julia Hammond said: ‘It was a really fun night and raising money for two great causes was just lovely’ and thanked everyone who attended as their support was much appreciated. Julia also added “huge thanks to Dano’s Sports Bar & Restaurant and their absolutely amazing team, led by manager Amilcar, nothing was too much trouble, they were just brilliant.” Julia also confirmed that there will definitely be more upcoming fundraising events with ‘The Three Buskerteers’ that the local community can support.
